HJ Harper's Writing Laboratory: About Me
http://www.hjharper.com/p/aboutme.html
HJ Harper isn't sure if books are stalking her, or if she’s stalking books. Either way, she’s had various jobs in book stores and libraries, and now works as an author. And Bureau of Mysteries. Series are published through Random House Australia, and contain zombies, werewolves, mad scientists, secret codes, ancient beings, ghosts and robots, as well as the odd explosion or two. HJ Harper lives in Melbourne where she plays far too many video games. What does HJ stand for? How many books have you written?

HJ Harper's Writing Laboratory: Cover Judging
http://www.hjharper.com/2013/06/cover-judging.html
Wednesday, June 12, 2013. I know, I know. Don't judge a book by its cover. But when you're a bookseller surrounded by hundreds of amazing books every day, you do find yourself favouring those books with the best artwork. This is just a small roundup of the books that are screaming at me to read them, purely because of how pretty they are. The Mirror Chronicles by Ian Johnstone. Warp the Reluctant Assassin by Eoin Colfer. Lost Words by Andrew Lane. The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani.

HJ Harper's Writing Laboratory: July 2011
http://www.hjharper.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. There are lots of fun parts about being an author - getting to go to work in your pyjamas after a twenty second commute is pretty good. But I think by far the best part is setting eyes on your first finished copies. It's the culmination of months of hard work from so many different people, and you're able to hold it in your hands. Except I've accidentally mixed up the order of the last two books. My bookseller self is ashamed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

HJ Harper's Writing Laboratory: March 2011
http://www.hjharper.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 14, 2011. Alphabetically, or by size? Wow This really make the organisation of my shelves look like crap. Which they did anyway. Thursday, March 10, 2011. I had a very surreal moment yesterday. Yesterday was different for me, because I knew we'd be doing the June list for Random House, and June is when my books come out with. you guessed it, Random House! Anyway, it turned out to be a blast. The rep told me her son had read them and loved them (target audience approval, success! At moments ...
