Being solitary is being alone well: being alone luxuriously immersed in doings of your own choice, aware of the fullness of your won presence rather than the absence of others. Because solitude is an achievement.". Anyway, here we are on day #17 of Tim's deployment. Which will then be followed by a "wedding anniversary" package. and a "Halloween" package. "Thanksgiving". "Christmas". I don't know why the military life is so romanticized. BUT! In moderation, of course. Lastly, the wildfires in Colorado ar...

I'm Alive, I Swear. -

I'm Alive, I Swear. So remember that time that my husband came home from deployment and I just completely stopped blogging? The picture of the propane tank is at my parents house. No one is sure what happened, but the man re-fueling was not paying attention and somehow a small fire had gone unnoticed. Luckily a safety valve saved our lives. No one knew until I found it like this. Josh, Sydnee, Me, Tim. Sarah V. Photography. Create a free website. Create your own free website. Start your own free website.

A little photo-journal action. click "read more". The days are long but the years are short. This is a concept that swims around in my brain all the time. Why is it that when we're in them, the moments feel like days, but then when we're looking back, the days seem like moments? Snappy, green peas, pale cucumbers, tall romaine lettuce. It's all there! But, where did this beautiful, abounding garden of wholesome veggies come from? With a side of unpredictability! Did you just hear something break? UPDATE:...

What day is it, again? -
http://www.rummolife.com/blog/what-day-is-it-again
What day is it, again? I get to do a mid-October post today because Tim got his Halloween packages super early this month. I guess the postal services were feeling extremely generous last week! This month has felt so long already because of all the October fun I've been having. Sam and I went to a showing of "A Blood Red Sky" in Portland on Sunday and it ended up being an absolute mess. On with the photos. We also celebrated Sam's birthday last week! My barrage of "selfies" from the night of "A Blood Red...

We Bought Property! | BIG LAKE ~ tiny house

BIG LAKE tiny house. Our adventure toward a simpler life! October 27, 2013. Our most frequently asked question since we started building our tiny house has been, “where are you going to park it? Pete and I have been looking for land the moment we left college and headed out west. We would be driving down the road in Garden Valley, Idaho and I would say, “look at that land, we should buy that.” Pete’s response was always the same, “is it for sale? Tiny Houses in Michigan. Tiny Houses on Wheels. Sorry Macy...

"Lately my hands, they don't feel like mine." -

Lately my hands, they don't feel like mine. My brain is fried. I got to attend my cousin Robby's wedding this weekend in Wilkes-Barre (I still think it should be pronounced "bar", not "berry") Pennsylvania. I met his new wife for the first time, Marianne and they seem just perfect for each other. I had a really, really good time. It was inexplicably good to see family. Sarah V. Photography. Thirty-one Days of Halloween -
http://www.rummolife.com/blog/thirty-one-days-of-halloween
Thirty-one Days of Halloween. Happy October, everyone. October, November, and December are three of my favorite months. Halloween,. Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Costumes, food, and presents and food. I am sad to think of leaving Maine, again, but ready to get back to my "current" life. It's a terrible feeling to be so torn between two places. Coming home was so helpful during this deployment, but it is really difficult to feel purposeful when you are juggling two lives. How sweet it is! And Sam and I wen...

My unbelievably adorable niece, Hazel May, was born in November while Tim was off training in the Mojave Desert. We didn't get to meet her until we made the drive home for Christmas. Which, by the way, went shockingly well. No weather, no flat tires. PS My new guilty pleasure: a food blog. Sarah V. Photography. End in sight... -
http://www.rummolife.com/blog/end-in-sight
So Tim is COMING HOME! Pinch me. I think I'm dreaming. It doesn't even feel like real life. We're looking at December for his homecoming, instead of March. This means we'll get to have a Christmas tree. and watch Christmas movies, celebrate the New Year together. and. is this heaven? What did I do to get so lucky? People keep saying to me, "see, it went by so fast! And while I totally understand where they are coming from. the cynic in me wants to say "uh, speak for yourself! Following that disaster Sam ...
