I am finding the best way of figuring out this gardening malarky is to actually go and look at a real garden and talk to an expert. So this weekend we visited to Spinners Garden. Spindrift has lots of leaflets, books and maps of The New Forest for your use. From Spindrift you can walk past the Fleur de Lys pub (2 mins walk) through Pilley, over the cattle grid, past the village shop (6 mins walk) and into beautiful open forest. Walking in the other direction will take you down Undershore, where you can either take a path along the river, (15 mins away) or carry on and walk to Lymington town centre (half an hour). The walking / cycling opportunities from the house are beautiful.
