The new lake had its first experience of ice in January. Ian built a new bridge and work began to secure the steep bank at the head of the lake. Strange patterns appeared and passers-by felt impelled by a curious urge to throw objects onto its surface. Working parties sprang into action and continued the task of clearing debris and preparing the ground to be returned to pasture.
