MuddyGoose – The Mountain Bike. My Mountain Bike – MuddyGoose. My Road Bike – Poggio del Re. Below is the official spec of the bike as taken from the Mongoose website. Some of it is however incorrect, or at least the setup that I received was slightly different. The fork is less than described without rebound adjust and with no remote for the lockout. Also my bike arrived with Kenda Small Block 8 tyres. Mongoose 6061 formed aluminum, Zero Stack head tube and replaceable hanger. Suntour XCR LO 100mm.

I bought the replacements a couple of months ago when I noticed the pads were getting a bit thin but I didn’t change them straight away and decided to keep an eye on the wear to try to get as much life from the originals as possible. So “how do you know when they need replacing? 8221; I hear you call! A little bit...

Poggio del Re – The Road Bike. My Mountain Bike – MuddyGoose. My Road Bike – Poggio del Re. Replacing an internally routed gear cable. It’s one of the jobs that I’d been dreading ever since buying my MEKK Poggio. Back in Feb 2014. And it’s probably, in part, why I hadn’t replaced my cable at an earlier opportunity and found myself snapping it mid-ride in the Peak District and having to single-speed my way up Holme Moss. What I do do though is ensure that I get the best value for money and obtain what I think is the absolute best option for me at the time! Then there’s aluminium. It’s light, relatively inexpensive but has a harsher ride than the others. My alumi...Moving beyond met...

Poggio del Re – The Road Bike. My Mountain Bike – MuddyGoose. My Road Bike – Poggio del Re. Poggio del Re; 500 km later. Can you properly get a feel for a bike based on a single ride? In my opinion, no. So here I am with just over 500 km under my belt on my new Mekk Poggio road bike, Poggio Del Re. Lets take a look at my thoughts on the bike, developed during those first 500. And here – The Replacement Has Arrived. Cleaned up for a photo. A small scratch on my seat tube. I now have the gears setup and ad...
