A different kind of Easter egg hunt | Jules of Peru
https://julescurry.wordpress.com/2013/04/21/a-different-kind-of-easter-egg-hunt
Chronicles of my year in Ollantaytambo. A different kind of Easter egg hunt. I meant to post this 3 weeks ago, but my little Macbook broke and is now lost and gone forever. This has complicated my life in more than one way (strange how we come to rely so much on technology). I will continue this post as if it were still Easter weekend though…. I should know by now (after nearly a year of living in Ollantaytambo) that holidays in Peru are much different that in the USA. Easter weekend is no exception.

Walkers of Rohan | Jules of Peru

Chronicles of my year in Ollantaytambo. Once we hiked out of “The Shire” the hobbits (aka my short volunteers), Keri, Peter and I started the LONG ascent through the edges of Rohan and eventually into a glacial bowl. There was something comforting about being surrounded by a snowy mountain range, unknown by anything or anyone (I think being in that position. Would be a different situation). I half expected a fairy to jump out and surprise me while I was gawking at the pretty purple flowers. After leaving...

Chronicles of my year in Ollantaytambo. I am at the end of a busy, busy week. I hope to muster up enough energy for some salsa dancing tonight and perhaps a blog-post tomorrow…while I still have access to wonderful internet in. For now though, enjoy my photo collage of the the students and the week’s events! This entry was published on March 2, 2013 at 11:17 pm and is filed under Estoy aquí. Chronicles of my year in Ollantaytambo. I’m thinkin’ Narnia. I spent every wintry weekend in college either ski training in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or racing around the Midwest. One weekend of training at Wolverine (in Ironwood, MI)…. Somewhere over the rainbow…of Quechua clothing. I thought I’d try to ride the Wizard of Oz theme as long as possible. This time, I’ve taken a different road to get to Emerald City. I can’t believe…. My Christmas wish…. I mentioned in the previous Peru-related post t...

Chronicles of my year in Ollantaytambo. Enough for trying to sound/write profound. This past week has been quite crazy.
