http://shinyontheoutside.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
MY very own sounding board. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Rant 84: A day in the life of body art. If you've ever walked into(/gate-crashed-because-you're-hungry) an Indian wedding, then apart from the great quantities of food, there is perhaps no other. Element that characterises our love for exuberance than dresses and accessories. Gold jewellery worn as if we've run short of dresses to cover ourselves, sarees sweeping around in a sea of red, and if it's a modern Indian/NRI type pphamilee waaley. The power to...

S.O.T.O. Rants: April 2011
http://shinyontheoutside.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
MY very own sounding board. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Rant 81: My love-hate relationship with Rain. When I was little, I hated rainy days. Absolutely did. For the simple reason that I was unable to go outside and play. Of course, this was back in the east-Indian city of Jamshedpur when the rainy season lasted no more than a month or so. But having spent the last four-and-a-half years in the south-western part of India - where rain accounts for half the number of seasons - it's much harder to ignore it.

http://shinyontheoutside.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
MY very own sounding board. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Rant 89: The most important sportsman. At last, just as all hope was lost, the winning moment arrived as my team’s captain pulled off a spectacular strike to send the packed house into delirium. Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary (right). For thousands, a match is more than just a result. Days, sometimes entire lives, are based around following their team. Take the case of Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, who was awared an honourary ticket for all of India̵...The f...

S.O.T.O. Rants: Yorkshire De Tour - Part 1
http://shinyontheoutside.blogspot.com/2015/03/rant-98-york-de-tour-part-1.html
MY very own sounding board. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Yorkshire De Tour - Part 1. Part 1: Sheffield Wednesday's nerves of steel. 7th February, 2015: Having found a rare Saturday off, I decided the best use of it would be to travel down to Sheffield. Yes, it is really travelling 'down' as Sheffield lies in South Yorkshire and was once the heartland of steel in the UK. Quite a nice city to start off this Yorkshire tour then, given my Jamshedpur. Which is attached to the station, and which was insanely busy.

MY very own sounding board. Monday, August 29, 2011. Rant 88: I miss you. I am about to embark upon a new chapter in my life. It will take place in a foreign land. I will be taking on an educational challenge that will define my career, meeting new people, building on some acquaintances, and continuing a very special relationship.
