Chesapeake Bay Clean Up and the 'TMDL'. The Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) is a measurement standard implemented by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in its effort to restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay. The standard affects localities throughout the massive 64,000 square mile watershed, which includes the NSV. The TMDL limit impacts water, waste water and storm water management on the local level. And the NSV Watershed Implementation Plan in our Document Center.
