Sync Error: ljarchive
http://ljarchive.livejournal.com/88598.html
I just downloaded LJ Archive after I started getting the cold sweats about losing my old journal entries. I haven't tried to do this for a few years, so I really like the look of the new program! My only concern is that I get the following sync error, which stops me from downloading anything. It looks like I could successfully download when I deselected "comments," so I guess it's a comment problem, but I'd like to download comments if I can. At System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Excep. badges and lanyards - Quietus 2016
http://quietuscon.livejournal.com/1489.html
A Harry Potter convention for introverts. Jun 7th, 2013 at 7:24 PM. My dearest ones,. Yesterday, I was surprised by another package: the black lanyards and badge holders had arrived! I just made a nice template for the badge sheets. And here is the result. I have once again kept things simple. There is enough space for doodling on the badge, and I shall leave sheets of Halloween stickers in the Common Room for everyone who wishes to adorn their badges :-). Logospilgrim, the quiet professor. I want to go.

A Harry Potter convention for introverts. Aug 10th, 2013 at 9:45 AM. My dearest ones,. Yesterday morning, I visited the location where I would like to hold Quietus 2016 for the first time. It looks even better than I had hoped, and I shall be meeting the event organizer in the near future. The members of staff I spoke with were delightful and very excited at the notion of a Harry Potter convention taking place there. You can read all about it here. Logospilgrim, the quiet professor. May 13th, 2013. One person complained that I was being monopolized by a couple of drunks, and one person wrote that I was bad and can’t sing. About 90 percent of the comments about me used the words great or amazing or entertaining, however, so okay. And there were several whose handwriting was impossible to read. I’ll just go ahead and assume those were positive. I’ve already met a few of these centurions in the piano bar. They seem okay. Except I had this one REALLY drunk lady whose weird vocal...The f...

It all feels more serious somehow, not least because once I get to Egypt, I need to start, you know, doing a dissertation. A pretty ambitious one (I just passed the prospectus defense on Wednesday). I still, of course, plan on it being an adventure. At 2010-06-25 15:11 (UTC). Now I know 2 lj people who've moved to spend some time living in cairo. Mazel tov and good luck!

Wall-y - Primordial Soup. Jul 9th, 2015 09:11 pm. I can think of few efforts (war on drugs, war on terror) that are as futile as building walls along national borders. It's an old impulse. Sumer may not have been a nation, exactly, but one of its rulers built a 270-km wall. Spanning the land between the Tigris and Euphrates over 4000 years ago. The Great Wall of China took over 1000 years. To complete. It may be the only successful border fence. There have been enough border fences to fill an entire book.
