The Land of Take-What-You-Want. Another blog from the peoplr that brought you 'The Land of Do-As-You-Please'. January 29, 2011. I have been thinking recently about libraries. I have a lovely friend. Who I like to talk to about these things and we spent at least half an hour talking through our thoughts on the subject. In all my childhood I was made to do two things: Learn to swim, and go to the library. The first was to keep us safe from drowning, despite living about as far from the sea as it is pos...

The Land of Take-What-You-Want. Another blog from the peoplr that brought you 'The Land of Do-As-You-Please'. October 4, 2009. Sunday, bloody Sunday. Today has been a mixed bag and so I have decided to unload my brain and pour the slops out here. In fact today began very well, we went for a walk on the chase. The beloved and I do love the walking and today’s was a belter because we began with breakfast at Springslade Lodge. If I was as talented as my lovely friend Jo. I felt good, like nothing could stop...

http://greatwarcannock.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

The official histories speak of heroic deeds and hard fighting, success and failure, the white portland headstones of the Commonwealth War Graves are a stark hauntingly beautiful reminder of those who lost their lives in these blood soaked fields. But what of those who were injured? The German army employed ...

Transport of Delight: November 2010
http://transport-of-delight.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 12 November 2010. Longleat – part 2. From the point of view of convenience for returning to Longleat on Sunday, Longleat campsite was not so convenient. To walk back to the estate would have taken about 5 minutes. You can see the car park from the entrance to the campsite. To get there in the van however, was a long and circuitous drive through country lanes which took nearly 20 minutes! The simulator was okay – not the most interesting I have been on. The tour of Longleat House was also wonderfu...

Transport of Delight: August 2011

Monday, 29 August 2011. In Llandaff there is a delightful tea rooms called Jaspers. This is the sort of place that we always frequent while on holiday but often cannot find near to home. So it is lovely to have Jaspers Tea Rooms. Within cycling distance—or even walking distance—of our home. It is also close to Llandaff Cathedral. And the walks thereabouts. A great place for a Sunday afternoon visit. Labels: Jaspers Tea Rooms. Thursday, 25 August 2011. Bundu Camping and Caravan Park. The lady who took my ...

Transport of Delight: April 2011

Wednesday, 27 April 2011. Having set up camp on arrival on Good Friday, we then went into Church Stretton. For dinner. After eating we had a look around the town. It seems a pleasant place with many interesting and historic buildings. We were treated to the scenic route back to the van over the moorland above Church Stretton. It is a beautiful area nestled in the Shropshire hills. Tuesday, 26 April 2011. Next we removed the fridge and gave it to someone on Freecycle. Labels: Buttley Tea Room.

Wednesday, 15 September 2010. Surya Eco Yoga Camp. In July I attended the Surya Eco Yoga Camp. Near Falmouth in Cornwall as a workshop leader. It was the first time that I had really lived in the van and am even more delighted with it now than I was before. It was most comfortable for living in for a week and is so easy and comfortable to drive that I find I do not get so tired on long journeys. Labels: Surya Eco Yoga Camp. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
