Re–Usable NewSpace: 1.03 Proposal
http://re-usablenewspace.blogspot.com/p/proposal.html
Ironically, we feel that the propellant replenishment problem has already been resolved as a by–product of another space system we plan to use. Therefore, it could be considered off–the–shelf, since only a minimal amount of time should be needed to develop, test, and implement the concept. In the two recent posts that dealt with the inglorious history of human presence in space (HERE) and (HERE), we saw that NASA was always at the mercy of the funding equation: No bucks, no Buck Rogers. The posts were ve...

Re–Usable NewSpace: Spaceport
http://re-usablenewspace.blogspot.com/p/spaceport.html
Before any space endeavor can be successful, there must first be a foundation on which to build a space program. This foundation is really the hub of space operations. Fuel needs to be stored and transferred safely, personnel need to be trained on spacecraft ground-handling techniques, a reinforced concrete runway is needed to handle the heavy loads of fully fueled spacecraft, etc. Eventually, this place will become the gateway to the planets and the stars. Continued below the hyperspace jump. Before the...

In addition to observational work, Andy has been active in the broader near-Earth object community, serving as a team member in several efforts to understand and report the impact hazard we face and how to lessen it, and leading a group reporting to NASA about the most important unknown factors related to human exploration of an asteroid. Jeffrey is currently working with the imaging experiment on the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. The Clementine Atlas of the Moon. In addition to being Principal Inve...

8220;Reuse and commonality is the key to a viable, robust, and durable space program.”. 8211; Old Klingon Proverb. Operations will occur from Spaceport America, located in sunny southern New Mexico where there are 300 days of clear launch weather every year. It is the first spaceport in human history to be designed and built from the ground up as a spaceport; all other spaceports are existing airport facilities that have been converted. Re–Usable NewSpace: Space Station
http://re-usablenewspace.blogspot.com/p/space-station.html
Now that our Skylon space vehicle has a solid base of operations at Spaceport America, we can start flexing our muscles and begin to expand our horizons. At each step in our journey, we need a base of operations; somewhere to eat, sleep, work, and yes, play. Spaceport America is such a place; it might even be called the Earth Surface Station (ESS). The first and most logical of these steps is Low Earth Orbit (LEO). And as much as the Spaceport will be a busy place, so too will the LEO Station (LEOS).

Re–Usable NewSpace: Space Housing
http://re-usablenewspace.blogspot.com/p/space-housing.html
We left the last diary and our home away from home up and running and ready to be occupied. Personnel should be coming and going between the Spaceport in New Mexico and our City In The Sky, the Low Earth Orbit Station (LEOS) and its suburbs, the Low Earth Orbit Science Stations (LEOSSs). However, the space stations are lacking one vital ingredient that we will fill in today. Just like an aircraft carrier, a busy city needs busy vehicles to make the whole ballet work. You know the drill. No one vehicle ca...

TO THE MOON, MARS, AND BEYOND. Many folks would like to see us back on the Moon and developing its resources. Friday, December 05, 2014. Drone and Planes Live-Track NASA's Orion Capsule Launch. I am still watching ORION Test Launch and debriefing replays. Nice! One of the items mentioned was that there were two Navy NP-3D Orion aircraft and the NASA Predator UAV, Ikhana, would be on hand to observe the entry and splashdown. Http:/ www.livescience.com/.
