Much squee has been had, and. Has actually succeeded in talking me past my mental crafting block and teaching me how to knit! We're probably doing the classic small-town fireworks display tonight (I think those are the best ones- forget the Mall), and hopefully meeting. In other news, I was inspired by the "Twitter in Plain English" video on our work intranet, and decided to finally give in and see what it's all about. An early adapter, I ain't. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post.

Friday, May 14, 2004. Oh, THOSE record sales! Where I find LOTS of cool stuff, actually) - the real reason that RIAA keeps reporting lower sales. Forget the confusing percentages, here's an oversimplified example: I shipped 1000 units last year and sold 700 of them. This year I sold 770 units but shipped only 930 units. I shipped 10% less units this year. And this is what the RIAA wants the public to accept as "a loss.". Read the whole article - it's a fascinating look at the way CD "sales" are counted d...

Saturday, May 22, 2004. Y'all can stop hassling me now. Since moving to North Carolina in 1975 and living all but about 6 months since then within the borders of the Old North State, I've constantly caught grief from family and friends for having never been to Biltmore Estate. Ok, you can let up now (of course, now I'll catch it for never having been during Christmas). It was very cool - I enjoyed it in large part because I didn't. Was "yes, I would really enjoy being rich". It's not something I thin...

Art: due South, RayK/Fraser - Squidfaces

Art: due South, RayK/Fraser. Art: due South, RayK/Fraser. For akamine-chan, who asked for a cute picture of Ray and Fraser doing something that at first glance seemed completely mundane, but on the second- perhaps a little too intimate. The implication being that someone has just asked Fraser, "Oh, I thought you were a tea drinker? To which he gives a response that really shouldn't have anything to do with it. :) The idea for this image was inspired by a screencap from Verboten Liebe. Oh, so that. Haha, ...

Saturday, June 12, 2004. Letter to editor update. Posted by Tony Plutonium @ 9:03 AM. Links to this post. Friday, June 11, 2004. If any of you got any news from Chapel Hill. Yesterday, yes, the woods that the cops and sheriffs and deputies and all were combing for a murder suspect are in fact the ones next to our neighborhood and are in fact the ones I go running in a few mornings a week. And where was I? Between that and the little anti-G8 prank in RTP. And apparently spent the night hanging out by Lake...

How to distract your scientist when he's not paying any attention to you," SGA, PWP, John/Rodney. Feb 23rd, 2008 at 1:23 PM. How to distract your scientist when he's not paying any attention to you. Gosh, I wish I owned Rodney and John. Sadly, I don't. Now also translated into German! I've had this story floating around in my head since I first saw this picture. This story wouldn't let me write it in anything else. How to distract your scientist when he's not paying any attention to you. This was so fant...

Saturday, April 17, 2004. I Can't Be Everywhere. I'm a little disappointed that I missed this - maybe because it was a Friday. So Treasury Department "news" releases are coming out with the following statement at the bottom:. America has a choice: It can continue to grow the economy and create new jobs as the president's policies are doing; or it can raise taxes on American families and small businesses, hurting economic recovery and future job creation.". You can see the Boston Globe. Links to this post.

Friday, April 30, 2004. Looking for something to pick up for Mother's Day? Well, you're in luck if you're going to be in the Chapel Hill area next weekend as the Orange County Artist's Guild is having their first Spring Art Show on May 8 at Chapel Hill High School from 10am to 6 pm (see link in title for details). JennySlash. Will be there with her paintings, prints and cards - come on by and pick up something original for Mom! I'm betting she really doesn't need another Veg-o-matic. Links to this post.
