The Outlaw Trail: January 2013
http://chucktyrell-outlawjournal.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
As an author of westerns, I figured I'd better put a bunch of interesting facts and fiction concerning the historical west on the web. This blog does that. It will include poetry, fiction, factual articles and links, and as much western color as I can muster. Have a fun read. Film review – Robot and Frank. Devine's Mission to be published as a Black Horse Western. Cowboys and Aliens: Did Aliens visit the Old West? THE FESS PARKER ISSUE! Writers of the West. Tex Rickard, boxing promoter. 永年コピライターをしてから引退をし...

FROM DUNDEE'S DESK: August 2014
http://fromdundeesdesk.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Goodbye to Another Old Friend (Hardboiled Magazine 1985 - 2014 R.I.P.). Over the weekend, I received a copy of the latest Hardboiled. 47) from editor/publisher Gary Lovisi. In the envelope, Gary included a short note saying this would be the last issue. On the editorial page of the issue, he expands on the reasons why. Naturally, I have a particular fondness for Hardboiled. We did twelve issues and I'm damned proud of each and every one. I'm sure Gary feels the same. That's too ...

FROM DUNDEE'S DESK: July 2015

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Noteworthy Reads: THE LAST WAR CHIEF (Outlaw Ranger #4) by James Reasoner. I’ve often marveled at the mastery with which James Reasoner sets the “hook” for his stories - - it absolutely *compels* the reader to want to find out what happens next. And what comes next in anything from Reasoner, of course, is never a disappointment. THE LAST WAR CHIEF is yet another fine example of this – on both counts. The conclusion is stirring, bittersweet, and altogether satisfying. WD here: Th...

FROM DUNDEE'S DESK: The Emptiness of JULY
http://fromdundeesdesk.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-emptiness-of-july.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. The Emptiness of JULY. Upon reflection I have come to realize that, for me, the month of July no longer holds the attraction of being a time filled with sunny days, carefree outdoor activities, and a sense of summer’s bright heart and the exuberance of youth that it used to call forth. This year, the awareness of the emptiness surrounding me has only widened and deepened. Others are gone … either permanently or in different ways. In January we lost John Duncklee. Of July, for examp...

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Noteworthy Reads: OUTLAW RANGER by James Reasoner. James Reasoner writes clean, buttery smooth prose that goes down as easy home cookin'. He seasons it a bit to whatever genre he is writing in, but the basic fare remains Reasoner and that means the reader is sure to come away well satisfied. The parallel to some of today's legal shenanigans that too frequently allow obvious scumbags to walk free via even more ridiculous decisions, is painfully familiar.). Wayne d. dundee.
