Retrieve the Stolen Jewels. In the context of problem solving how to get around the beam system, the participants learn about the electromagnetic spectrum, light beams, photo sensors, and electronic circuits. Spy Girls will be piloted in fall of 2014 as a 12 week after-school program. Each week will consist of a different mission. Individual missions can be conducted for spy-themed birthday parties starting in January of 2015. What is infrared light? Why can't we see the beam?

The Spy Girls program is structured as a sequence of ". The participants role play they are on a field ops team of a secret benevolent spy agency. Each mission gives the participants a specific goal to achieve that requires the use or understanding of a specific technology and/or math and science concepts. In the context of problem solving how to achieve the mission goal, the participants learn about how the technology works and about the math and science concepts behind the technology.
