The Club operates several leagues serving various levels of play. The Monday evening Charity League Teams play about seven times in a season every third week or so with some complimentary lessons at the start of the season. The Club is hosting a new Juvenile League this fall on Monday afternoons after school for ages 12 to 17. Session 1: October 19 – December 7. Session 2: January 18th – Mar 7th 2016. Includes: Instruction, Rules and Etiquette and Team Play. Cost: $40 for eight sessions. Register: September 9 and 16 (7 – 8 pm), or at Club weekdays from 10-2. Minimum Age 8 Years. The game was played on frozen marshes in Scotland, using “channel stones” that had been worn smooth by the action of water, while the Dutch curled on the same frozen canals where ice skating flourished. As with golf, the question of where curling was “invented” will probably never be answered, but the Scots certainly have to be credited both with developing the modern version of the sport and with promoting the game in America.
