Heavy Metal Infinity: Shredder Friday Returns!
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2010/03/shredder-friday-returns.html
Friday, March 26, 2010. So, I spent the first half of my spring break rocking out pretty hard to Andrew WK and Megadeth. The rest of the week, however, was spent working my ass off moving my mother's office. Too exhausted from concert attendance and heavy lifting, I couldn't get a Shredder Friday post up last week. Let me make it up to you with this offering. I just stumbled across this searching for Greg Howe videos. Here is the worst promo video I've ever seen (worse than this. That's all for this inst...

Heavy Metal Infinity: August 2009
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 15, 2009. The story begins all the way back to my first introductions to heavy metal. Other than early dabblings with Ride the Lightning, Megadeth and King Diamond were the first metal bands I really listened to. Every aspect of metal appealed to me, but it seemed the thing that really. Got me off was how brutally fast it could be. Some King Diamond songs were decently paced, but not nearly as fast as Megadeth could get. And by the time I finally got my hands on Rust In Peace. Eventually...

First Week in Monte Verde | V in CR's Blog
https://vincr.wordpress.com/2009/01/26/first-week-in-monte-verde
V in CR’s Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; frantic first posting. First Week in Monte Verde. So I clearly haven’t been very vigilant in this endeavor. But that’s not really my fault because I only managed to reconnect with the World Wide Web a few days ago, and the only place I can get on is at school, which is quite a hike to get to AND the internet only works. So don’t yell at me! I guess I’ll talk about my. Well thank god for kids! A note about Costa Rican dog culture:. I think thatR...

Heavy Metal Infinity: June 2009
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 7, 2009. Sunn 0) ) - Monoliths and Dimensions (and getting lost in Berlin). I was going to have this post be a review of the show and maybe even post an interview if I got lucky. But now I'll just talk about the new record, Monoliths and Dimensions. After listening to this record I thought to myself, whether or not they know it, Sunn 0) ) is creating a new musical lineage from ground zero. A lineage born of influences very different from (and often opposite to) traditional western music.

Heavy Metal Infinity: July 2009
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 4, 2009. Mercyful Fate to mount a new comeback? I never intended to just repost news on this blog, but I think this is the most exciting thing to happen in mainstream metal in a long time. I touched on the subject briefly in my Rock Band post, but let me relay the rest of the story from King Diamond's official website. Late last year, our old pal Lars Ulrich. And Curse of the Pharaohs. Sounds kinda cool, right? Mercyful Fate on a Guitar Hero game? Well, the story is just beginning. Was t...

Heavy Metal Infinity: November 2009
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 4, 2009. King Diamond Remasters: Spider's Lullabye and The Graveyard. On October 13th King Diamond rereleased two of his albums from the 1990's. The Spider's Lullabye. 1990) with the 80's records). King Diamond sort of took a back seat, if only logistically, to MF in those days. And so, many people ignore these albums. Unfortunately for them, they contain some of the most imaginative musical and narrative elements of the entire KD catalog. Along with The Poltergeist. Is the climax of ...

Heavy Metal Infinity: Krallice
http://heavymetalinfinity.blogspot.com/2010/03/krallice.html
Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Reading through my posts on this blog, it is fair to say I can be a man of extremes when it comes to music. Sometimes when people ask what kind of music I enjoy, I tell them, " Extremely fast music. And extremely slow music. With a few exceptions, this is the truth. It's like taking uppers and downers all day to stay even. But what about the elevated, circular meeting point of "fast" and "slow"? But the rapidly repeated note has some different properties. Get ahold of their new...
