Squonk Art: Face No Eraser
http://squonkart.blogspot.com/2007/09/face-no-eraser.html
Friday, September 14, 2007. I thought this face turned out pretty good. Didn't have a decent eraser though, so it's pretty rough. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Tumbling and a Bumbling He Will Go. I'm a puppeteer. I'm much better at puppetry than drawing. Though I'm no great artist, drawing is something I've always enjoyed. I'm trying to spend more time drawing, so posting my scribbles in a blog is a good way to make sure I keep with it. Subscribe Now: Feed Icon. Subscribe in a reader.

Squonk Art: December 2007
http://squonkart.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 17, 2007. Zappa and some sort of Samurai Chick. I did some drawing this weekend and was somewhat pleased with the results. I really like the way Frank Zappa (above) turned out.except for his left hand. Drawing hands is one of the toughest things for me. I gotta keep working on it. The drawing below started as just a face, but along the way turned into some sort of Samurai Chick. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Tumbling and a Bumbling He Will Go. Subscribe Now: Feed Icon. Sunday, August 02, 2009. Songs with a Girls' Name in the Title #17. 17 Jolene - Dolly Parton. Songs with a Girls Name in the Title. Songs with a Girls' Name in the Title #18. 18 Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkel. Probably one of the most upbeat songs about being dumped. The unique rhythm, which was supposedly achieved by Paul and Arty slapping their legs while someone else banged on a piano bench, points to the African influence Simon would explore on later albums like "Graceland.". Squonk: Early Oscar Predictions
http://squonkblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/early-oscar-predictions.html
Wednesday, February 03, 2010. The Oscar nominees were announced yesterday. Once again I'm having a bit of a contest at my office to see who can pick the most winners. Things are a bit different this year with ten nominees in the Best Picture category, so it'll be a bit harder to pick the winner. Still, here are my early predictions, still subject to change as we see how the wind blows over the next few weeks. Jeff Bridges - Crazy Heart. George Clooney - Up in the Air. Colin Firth - A Single Man. Sidibe h...

Squonk: We are the World...Again
http://squonkblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/we-are-worldagain.html
Saturday, February 13, 2010. We are the World.Again. I remember the album cover of the original "We are the World" which featured a group photo of the stars involved and an alphabetical listing of their names beneath. What always stuck out in my mind is that the first name on that alphabetical list was someone we don't think of as a singer.Dan Aykroyd! As I'm watching the video for the new song last night, I noticed a few more famous faces carrying on the "huh? We are the World. Denver, CO, United States.

Monday, February 15, 2010. Cartoon a Day: Hockey Homicide. Directed by Jack Kinney. Available on: Walt Disney Treasures - The Complete Goofy. Well folks, life got crazy, so "Cartoon a Day" didn't happen for quite a while. But with the Winter Olympics going on, I just couldn't resist doing a review of a great cartoon that celebrates a great winter sport.the Goofy short, "Hockey Homicide." In my opinion, this may be the best of Goofy's staring vehicles. Through it all you can see that while the makers of t...

Sunday, November 15, 2009. Guilty Pleasure 9: The Legend of Billie Jean. Summer 1986 was when cable TV first came to Wheaton, IL. So the movies that we watched endlessly on cable that summer were the films out in theaters the previous summer.including one of 1985's big bombs, " The Legend of Billie Jean. It stars Helen Slater. The story is really pretty silly. These "criminals" hang out in a distinct looking vehicle, in wide open spaces, yet nobody seems to be able to find them. The movie is just...Or th...
