Whenever I hear/read the word metropolis, I think of superheroes, so I can't resist posting this old comic I did of a cow superhero saving the city. It's from 2003 (I can't believe this drawing is twelve years old)! Originally she was Batcow, but I think The Masked Moo is a better name. What do you think? Here's the final image:. I posted...

Thursday, March 26, 2015. Birds, Kitty, bees, ruckus for IF, and a new postcard. The prompt for Illustration Friday. This week is ruckus. It just so happens that I've been working on images for a new postcard, and the events of the first image lead to a ruckus in the second one! Image #1: Kitty is hiding in the flowers, hoping that by holding very still, a birdie will land so she can catch it (in her mouth). One of the birdies is having none of that, and is going to fight back, with bees! Chance that the...

The Story Board: August 2012
http://a-saldivar.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Recently I designed an icon and ads for a calculus app for the Android Market. It's an interesting challenge to design something that looks good at a variety of sizes and screen resolutions, especially knowing it'll end up on a small device. Plus, with so many apps out there to choose from, I really wanted my Calculus Genie to stand out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Visit My Zazzle Shop:. New From My Shop:. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Yes, I Do Want to Win. After planning to focus on something besides illustrated recipes, they announced a big contest on They Draw and Cook. I entered two illustrations and thought I’d do what I always do - keep quiet about it. That way I could: A) not jinx it; and B) pretend it didn’t really matter anyway. Could I actually treat my family to dinner someplace that doesn’t have freakish cartoon mascots? If I don’t get a mention, I’ll probably go into the kind of slump...Friday, M...

Friday, July 27, 2012. When So-So Will Have to Do. Here's the first of nearly 300 slides I want to put in a family slide show. It's my mom at her bridal shower. Nice haul, by the way - just look at that bin full of gifts! Unfortunately, this slide show has been far too long in the making. That was eight years ago. Obviously we don't get many rainy days here. We've had our share of stormy times, though, and the slides were left to gather dust under my bed. So, what'll it be? Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

Has been published recently by Disney-Hyperion. Illustrated by Stephanie Ruble. The flap copy sums it up nicely: "Ewe was a sheep with a feel for wheels. Aye was a lemur with a thing for wings. But it wasn't until Ewe and Aye found each other that things really got off the ground.". Addresses how to develop new ones, then Ewe and Aye.
