It's You Who's Stupid. It's a language, whether you like it or not. November 18, 2006. I hate it when people think we are automatically stupid because we cannot speak. Foreign language speakers, though they cannot speak English, are treated with more respect, simply because they 1) produce sounds that construe a language 2) have the ability to learn to speak English.
