Monday, 14 March 2011. Also, I enjoyed using a blog to show my development. Even though I've used blogs before, I've never used them to show my uni work, and I found it easy to use. Wednesday, 9 March 2011. I chose two of the photos I'd made for a final piece, and in photoshop added some text. Here are the final outcomes:. I believe the final outcome worked very well, it's clear and simple but beautifully portrayed. It's not too overflowed, and the message is clear. Just what I wanted. Although this post...

Design Blog: Prototyping..

http://www.staceydaley.blogspot.com/2011/03/prototyping.html

Monday, 7 March 2011. Mocking up a small version for ways to stick it together using slots, I took photos that came out with quite a patterned (sunflower? Doing this mock up helped me work out the finer kinks in my sculpture, such as do I stick the ends inside, or outside, how far in does it go? How bent do I make it? Will it be strong enough? Design Blog: Subject Matter...

http://www.staceydaley.blogspot.com/2011/03/subject-matter.html

Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Based on Peter Callesen's work, I was thinking maybe a staged photograph with type and image? Although that's not really what GF Smith's products are about. So I decided, using the same shape that I repeated in my previous outcome, if I formed it properly, I could make the "100" from it. Maybe the photos could have some depth. I tried to photograph the piece I made afterward, to get it so that it had depth. However I don't really think this worked very well. Type Posters - Layout.

Design Blog: It's a lot bigger than I expected...

http://www.staceydaley.blogspot.com/2011/03/its-lot-bigger-than-i-expected.html

Monday, 7 March 2011. It's a lot bigger than I expected. I set out to get larger thicker paper, and ended up with two A2 sheets of it. This resulted in a lot of tracing round my prototype piece, and a lot of cutting out and scoring down the middles of each segment. Now to fit them together. Even though my sculpture is finished, I still may need to add extra strength to hold it together as I don't think pritt stick is going to hold very long. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ZED graphic design: Yulia Brodskaya

http://zedopson.blogspot.com/2011/03/yulia-brodskaya.html

Friday, 4 March 2011. Yulia Brodskaya is probably the most inspiring artist i've come across, her typographical and illustrative paper art is fascinating. The decorative style of typography really makes an impact, the delicate illustrations pair really well with the organic feel of the design. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ZED graphic design: Inspiration for completion.

http://zedopson.blogspot.com/2011/03/inspiration-for-completion.html

Thursday, 3 March 2011. As I was experimenting I began to see a relationship between the pattern of my design and that of the Eden Project. I decided at that point I would continue with this idea. As you can see in the image behind the polygons lies a pattern of triangles; small and large. This is the basis for my design. Rather than it be a dome I want to create a full sphere. ZED graphic design: Further experimentation in repetition.

http://zedopson.blogspot.com/2011/03/further-experimentation-in-repetition.html

Thursday, 3 March 2011. Further experimentation in repetition. The other idea for joining each section was by corner. I started by creating mini spheres using this technique. Then built on the idea to create a pattern on a larger scale, I joined the corners by the exterior here. Then played around with laying the two patterns together. Here the joins are made on the inside, I much prefer this as I think it looks a lot neater. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Monday, 14 March 2011. Celebrating 100 years of GF Smith paper. I chose this as my final design due to the fact that at the begginnning of the brief in my sketch book i stated that three elements that i wish to take into my final design will be abstract, clean and pure. Therefore i believe i have managed to capture these elements in this design. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Graphic Design: Models

http://lauradilley.blogspot.com/2011/05/models.html

Wednesday, 20 April 2011. Here are all the models I created from plasticine. I tested out adding spikes to the cactuses using real twigs and metal wire but I decided they looked better without. Small cactuses for the long shot. Eyes and eyebrows for the cactuses. Character 1 - based on Zorro. Character 2 - based on a Mexican Bandit. These are the close up eyes. I created all the close up shots by sticking plasicine onto a board so they are all 2D rather than 3D. Tumbleweed made out of hay.
