Ozdemir Family- Stories and Such. Thursday, October 10, 2013. 2 of a Kind- Ilkan and Fecir. This is one of my favorite pictures of Fecir in the boys from nearly 2 years ago now! Today I had lunch with Fecir, my sister-in-law. It's always fun to have a girls only lunch and chat. Today our conversation mostly focused on a friend of ours who passed away last week, Betul, and also on our upcoming holiday plans. He totally cracks me up! I think he probably gets his obsession with shoes from her as well!

Ozdemir Family- Stories and Such. Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Eyup Sultan Mosque and Galata Kule. When we visited Istanbul last week, we stayed in the Eyup neighborhood of Istanbul (on the European side of Istanbul) right around the corner from the Eyup Sultan Mosque. This mosque was constructed in 1458 and was the first mosque built after the Ottoman's conquered Istanbul (Constantinople). The mosque is next to the tomb of Eyup, one of the companions of the prophet of Islam was buried in 670.

Ozdemir Family- Stories and Such. Thursday, February 09, 2012. Last year Ilkan actually took a sticker with a turtle on it and stuck it to the bowl so that the turtle wouldn't feel lonely! I guess it's a good thing we had 2 kids! So, they decided to rename the turtles Ronaldo and the new one is Messi.2 soccer players, imagine that! Ozdemir Family- Stories and Such. Thursday, August 30, 2012. When they came home, Ilkan was much to excited to take a short nap and so was playing with toys and watching cartoons. Around Noon we headed out with Aunt Fecir to buy his presents. He picked out 2 new pair of shoes and a new Galatasaray jersey. He also got a new school bag! Ozdemir Family- Stories and Such. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. While we were in Istanbul this last week, we visited the Topkapi Palace. This palace contains some incredible religious relics, one of which being the staff of Moses. I found this photo online that someone else had taken, as technically you are not to take pictures in this area of the palace and it was so crowded I wouldn't have been able to take a picture anyways.
