Stacy J. Quiñones. May 12, 2015. May 12, 2015. I’m a Latina, and I don’t speak Spanish. I am American. So, I believe that what she was really trying to say is that Shakira wanted to be a white girl. I’ve dyed my hair blonde a couple of times, only because I wanted to try something different, not be someone else. The same reason maybe that Shakira does (which she looks amazing as a blonde by the way! Me as a former blonde, not trying to be “American” (whatever that means) or Shakira. Follow me on Twitter.

On April 24th, 1994, my daughter Stacy went to sleep happy - she was an intelligent, loving teenager with a bright future in front of her. Stacy was going to be a doctor - a pediatrician. She knew it since the time she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, just before her 4th birthday. Stacy wanted to make a difference, to help people. She had great plans for the future. But at age 17, those plans ended.
