Garage kits

Garage Kits is the commonly used name for sculptures casted up in poly-urethane plastic and sold to enthusiasts and collectors as assembly kits. It has been a subculture genre since the late eighties and is based around the fandom of the old Aurora monster kits of the sixties and seventies. I have been a collector since the early nineties and had my own production line from 1995 to 2002. Here are a few paint jobs I have enjoyed doing throughout the years:.

Here are a few samples of my non-digital work. First up is a sculpture of Nosferatu in Werner Herzogs film from 1979. This sculpture depicts Isabelle Adjani and Klaus Kinski in the scene where the Count enters her bed chamber and all she sees are his shadow since vampires don't show up in mirrors. We, the spectator, are of course the mirror. This was sold as a model kit in 2001. Click image to open up the video reel of my animation work for the past 10 years or so.
