Look at us all! Like a reunion. By the way Skead, why are you facing the wrong way? PPS That's some crazy red-eye. You should try looking into the camera next time. Lots of peopl...

http://lindsayandgeoff.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
From Our World to Yours. Friday, February 24, 2006. Best Of.(first installment). Here is the first taste of our 3-weeks in Sri Lanka. Despite the country's terrible luck, be it civil unrest or the tsunami, this country has everything to offer. What a fantastic place! Best sunset, hands down. I wouldn't say that Sri Lanka is best known for its sunsets, but we lucked out with this one. Picture us sitting behind the camera after a day on the beach, beer in hand. Ahhh! Aren't these two adorable? Up first is ...

Hungry in Halifax: cardamom pear loaf
http://hungryinhalifax.blogspot.com/2011/02/cardamom-pear-loaf.html
Thursday, February 3, 2011. Perhaps like me, you've survived the great snowpocalypse that attacked much of North America (yes North America, dear States-side readers. When you see weather systems disappearing beyond the borders of the US on TV, they come here to Canada). I can't bear the idea of leaving the house, the slushy streets, icy sidewalks, and the mountains of snow to be conquered on every street corner! All I want is cup upon cup of tea, and a little cake to go with it! Vegan Cardamom Pear Loaf.

Hungry in Halifax: November 2012
http://hungryinhalifax.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 25, 2012. Christmas Cake, day 1. I love real fruitcake for not being too sweet, and being actually fruity, not in a bright, summery way, but in a serious, winter way. It's a very companionable cake, for the quiet, contemplative time of year. It's also a party cake, though, because it really is full of booze! If you're going to make it, use something that you like to drink. The alcohol helps preserve the cake and gives it flavor. Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful...

Hungry in Halifax: Making Charlie's Seitan
http://hungryinhalifax.blogspot.com/2013/05/making-charlies-seitan.html
Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Readers, as you know, I am always on the look out. For a good seitan recipe. Well, I found a new one o n Charlie's Kitchen Blog. And it made a great batch of seitan! I have been using a mix of vital wheat gluten and chick pea flour in my recent batches, but I really liked the density of Charlie's all VWG seitan recipe. It had a pleasant texture- not too chewy! I had to do some substituting based on what I had in my kitchen, so I wrote up a version of the recipe I ended up making.

Hungry in Halifax: Green Beans Paruppu usili
http://hungryinhalifax.blogspot.com/2010/12/green-beans-parruppusili.html
Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Green Beans Paruppu usili. This recipe is especially for my friend Adrianne. This past summer, I had the great pleasure of swapping banana flower recipes with her and another friend. In South India it is common to eat banana flowers sauteed with paruppu usili, steamed lentil cakes, broken up into small pieces. She will have to give us the recipe for her banana flowers in coconut milk from the Philippines (and also for mango salad, please! Green Beans Paruppu usili. Make littl...
