A narrow-fronted pub tucked inconspicuously away next to the Post Office, St Aldates Tavern. Dynamical and Structural Biophysics. Congratulations to Dr Georg! Georg successfully defended his DPhil today, making him the first pillar-to-post student to pass through our doors. Thank you to his examiners were Tuomas Knowles (Chemistry, Cambridge), and Jason Schnell (Biochemistry, Oxford). What is a Skeptic? Skeptics in the Pub are a group of people in Oxford who like to have a drink and talk nonsense. Each month, we find a speaker - typically a scientist or prominent sceptic who will speak for around 40 minutes. The subjects of the talks vary, but they will typically be about a common belief that either cannot be justified by the available evidence, or that can actually be demonstrated to be false by the available evidence.
