Liposarcoma is a rare cancer of connective tissues that resemble fat cells under a microscope. It accounts for up to 18% of all soft tissue sarcomas. Liposarcoma can occur in almost any part of the body, but more than half of liposarcoma cases involve the thigh, and up to a third involve the abdominal cavity. A note from Mario! Today was a long day of appointments, but I'm happy to say that nearly 22 months since finding a strange lump in my leg, 10 months since its removal and accompanied life altering diagnosis, 7 months since completing radiation treatment, 6 months since surgical re-resection, and nearly 1 month since completing a brutal 4 month stretch of chemotherapy - I am and continue to be cancer free. I am humble and fortunate and unbelievably grateful on so many levels and for so many things today.

Se n'è andata a causa di un tumore una delle menti geniali di questo secolo. Cambiando un pò argomento, mi ha colpito non poco il fatto che nel processo di peer reviewing può capitare che prima di pubblicare un articolo su rivista passino mesi e mesi, magari col rischio di doverlo aggiornare di nuovo!
