Sat, Nov. 30th, 2013, 07:43 pm. Shops closing down in St Andrews. Wandered into town to see the Christmas lights being switched on. Usually I don’t get beyond South Street, but we had a wander up and down Market Street today. A pity; I rather like the booth seats and the friendly service. OK, so the chips were mediocre, but it was easy to have a family meal sharing a pizza and a big plate of salad. Apparently it is being redeveloped to become a Domino’s Pizza. St Andrews, Scotland. Thu, Feb. 10th, 2011, 05:58 pm. Tailend veggie-hating menu lies. Chip shop’s menu has a Veggie Option section. It isn’t a great leap to infer that their veggie burger, veggie spring roll, and veggie haggis, are suitable for vegetarians. But it appears that they are only vegetarian until they are cooked. As a vegetarian, I accept that a minority of chip shops cook in beef dripping, and that they don’t always make it clear. But when a menu describes food as veggie, I expect it to be vegetarian.
