Katie the Librarian: July 2015
http://librariankatie.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

I was keen to attend the conference, having worked in the area of Special Collections for well over ten years, so my conference attendance had tended to be restricted to those events that were closely connected to my specialist area. Concert Hall, where the keynotes took place. So, what next? 1879-1880: Robert ...

Thursday, 29 January 2015. HLF conference 2014: Beyond the bid. The 2014 Historic Libraries Forum conference took fundraising, project management and related issues as its theme. I was one of the co-organisers, and also hosted it at Brunel University Library. These topics had been suggested by attendees at previous conferences and workshops. Slides from most of the speakers are available on the HLF website. Took time away from working on other projects - with a small staff someone still has to do the work.

Wearing my Digital Humanities hat. A blog from the University of St Andrews Library. Monday, 20 April 2015. The Loch Computer project, which I mentioned last October, is also going well. I attended a networking meeting of the group recently, and very much enjoyed the presentations on “remoteness and connectedness” in the opening session, which were intended to spark conversations on these themes over lunch and beyond. This time Professor Al Dearle. Might be the solution. Talk alluded to all sorts of conn...

We have been having a look at some of our older and under-appreciated titles and realise that we can offer incredible value on them, so in the next few days I will be posting these offers. They will be available until the end of March. John Poynton writes exceptionally well, easy and flowing writing that carries you forward and telling an important story about the spiritually transformative effects of the Wilderness Experience.
