Owls in the Duckpond*: June 2013

Owls in the Duckpond*. Saturday, June 15, 2013. Fantastic Photographs of Absurdly Beautiful and Romantic Cape Ann (subtitled). Saturday, Day 1. Moss patiently awaits his flight out of JAX to BOS. He's holding the Little Island by Margaret Wise Brown. Sure, it's blasphemous, but the midsection with the leaping talking cat and it's commentary on the nature of reality annoys me. Sunday, Day 2. During nap time I snuck out for a quick solo walk around town in the 93 degree mid-day heat. I ran into the Toa...

old wire road: November 2011
http://old-wire-road.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Good dogs, bad cats and hungry chickens in a world gone insane. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Thanksgiving in Ajo, 2011. The Crater Range, North of Ajo. The next day we were visited by Cymande’s Uncle George, Aunt June and Aunt Carolyn. Papa, Moss and Giles put on a great patio show for everyone (and my father even managed to provide lunch). The Grandparents then bravely offered to babysit all night while we slept in the casita/little dude and a very rare full-night’s sleep was had....Our short trip to Ajo...

Owls in the Duckpond*: July 2014

Owls in the Duckpond*. Tuesday, July 8, 2014. All-Purpose All-Encompassing Unapologetic Blog Post Covering the Past 12 Months. Palm Point Park on Newnan's Lake, Gainesville. Friends occasionally ask if I will ever post again which feels like a compliment at first but then the feeling quickly morphs into guilt and finally settles into a list of excuses: parenting has drained all my resources, my camera is nearly non-functional, and oh, who cares? Good times at Payne's Prairie. Giles on La Chua Trail.

Owls in the Duckpond*: August 2012
http://duckpondia.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Owls in the Duckpond*. Sunday, August 12, 2012. Welcome to the neighborhood, us! Giles at Roper Park. Lunch with Nana and Papa. Before we determined this would be our next home we looked at Seattle, Cape Ann, and Boston. We kept a little joke to ourselves: All this searching is fine, but Gainesville will be great, and so it is. Oh, that's too nice for us'. Mark of the Driveway. We still don't know what it means except that it all makes sense and it's really quite funny. Moss fleeing the Turtle Fountain.

Owls in the Duckpond*. Friday, August 22, 2014. Chanticleer Shores to Niles Beach (with Duck Itch). The view from atop Locke's Hill overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Go ahead, relax, take your sunglasses off and leave them here for a few days because we're on THAT kind of vacation. Then, days later watch as the earnest camp counselor leads her campers down the hill wearing your sunglasses like a teenage criminal. It's okay, really. Owls in the Duckpond*: December 2012
http://duckpondia.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Owls in the Duckpond*. Friday, December 28, 2012. I recently sent Cymande away overnight to Amelia Island to restore some sanity and catch up on a little sleep. While away I took the boys on a "River Adventure" which included a check list of animals we complied before we left. First animal that Moss spotted? An alligator. I never saw the alligator but I took his word for it. Bicycle art at the depot. Giles played on the Island of Sodor for about 2 hours before emerging for food. Cymande and Moss relax on...
