No Name Farm/Ranch: October 2012
http://nonamefarmranch.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Our Halloween donkey, Boo, turns four today. That means we've had him for exactly 3 years and 10 months. That's 3 years and 10 months of slobbery donkey licks, sneaky bites, and over-sized velvet ears. Happy Birthday Boo! You remain just as annoying but hilarious as ever. May your day be filled with dust baths and apples. Tuesday, October 30, 2012. It's cold outside at 3:20 on ...

No Name Farm/Ranch: March 2013
http://nonamefarmranch.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Monday, March 25, 2013. I wrote a long post this afternoon. It included an explanation of the quadrants of my brain which, if you were wondering, is divided evenly between the following:. 4 Watching Friday Night Lights. I thought this, repeatedly. Then I ate some homemade yogurt and the world was right again. I'll let you know as soon as I can articulate the concept. The point is that I want it - badly...

No Name Farm/Ranch: 10,000 Charges
http://nonamefarmranch.blogspot.com/2013/04/10000-charges.html
The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Without much ceremony, we acquired a beehive. We ordered the hive back in the fall, fearing it would be impossible to find one come springtime. There are lots of options when bee shopping but the other choices (nucs, bag-o-bees, taming a bee tree hive, etc) required too much skill. So we paid the extra money and picked up a thriving hive through Bee Weaver Apiaries. Or to each other.

No Name Farm/Ranch: A Slow Dance

The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Monday, May 27, 2013. The last several weeks have required a shift of some duties around here, and it's true that we're all capable of more when it's necessary. It's not pleasant but it's possible. I also have a very deep and newfound respect for my own tendons, both of which I look down and thank daily for all they do. Have you thanked your Achilles tendons lately? Your hands and arms? Home - Sharp Goat R...

No Name Farm/Ranch: November 2012

The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Friday, November 30, 2012. Or not for too long. I felt incredibly fancy. Through my newly acquired speed and fanciness - the milk developed a beautiful frothy, foamy head in the shiny bucket. This is IT! I shouted in my head - YOU ARE AN AMAZING, PROFESSIONAL MILKING PERSON! I am clearly a natural. But the point of all this, of the painfully explicit details, is to illustrate one proud fact: I did not cry ...

No Name Farm/Ranch: September 2012
http://nonamefarmranch.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The story of a five year plan, an impulse buy, and two city folks lost (then found) in the country. Thursday, September 20, 2012. Ever since I can remember, Mom had a garden. There are many foggy memories of her crouched down in the middle of the big square patch outside the back door, her ever-present, thin gold necklace sparkling against deep olive skin as she moved from this plant to the other, tugging at weeds and tamping down roots. Garden, the proximity of which was intimidating and fascinating.

Registered Dexter Cattle in South Texas…Farm Life, Sweet Liberty, Happiness Found. Farm Follies and Fails. Had a pasture full of Dexters, and one pretty little dun girl waiting in the stanchion begging to be milked. Maddie was a first time freshener who had just recently calved, yet she never even lifted a foot and barely swished her tail at all the inexperienced hands messing with her. Needless to say, I was in love and started to search with even more fervor! We finally found Feirm Na mBo Bideach.
