Guiding Principles of SKW:. Children are not to be in an institutional setting; rather the goal is to create a home setting. Establishing a home setting creates the relationship to the children as a caring relative. Children are chosen based on the child’s needs, not the program’s. I know that he probably is just really mad and hurt and he knows that he can yell at me and take it out on me ( with out hitting me he would never do that) and I would not go anywhere. BLAH!
