I love, love, love this picture! Who asked for a fun picture of Lirael and her companion/mentor, the Disreputable Dog. Lirael, being descended from the Clayr and the Abhorsens, has the star and the key on her surcoat. The bells are the magical tools and weapons of a necromancer, who are generally a bad sort except for the Abhorsen, whose job it is to hunt all the others.
