Do you like me? We Need Bicycle Mechanics. We are a high volume bicycle repair camp. 2015 saw us gift bicycle repair to 1500 Burners at the 3:00 Service Plaza. Our tiny camp did an amazing job, but the need for mechanics is endless (such is the need for bicycle repair on the Playa). So, we are looking to host even more mechanics in 2016. Leave your Playa bike behind. Every year the Playa is littered with junk bicycles after Burning Man. While not as bad as an oil spill, bikes are MOOP that can't be simply tossed onto a burn pile. They have to be picked up with DPW vehicles, stored while determining if any of the bikes are stolen, hauled off of the Playa, and so on. Abandoned bikes make this process exponentially more cumbersome. Hammer And Cyclery and Re-Cycle, Inc share no official affiliations with Burning Man. Or Black Rock City, LLC.

The Hammer And Cyclery story. Hammer And Cyclery was just a conversation in 2009. We brought our first tools to the Playa in 2010. Two of us drove 50 bicycles out to the Playa from Minneapolis and joined DropIt LikeIts Hott Spot on Edinburgh and 3:30. This was our test run to work out the kinks.
