If you are a special needs family new to the area, new to diagnosis, or new to a suspected special need, we'd like to visit with you and help you connect in the community. EFN In the News. We can't wait to launch the Starting Point Project. We're not ready yet, but we hope to be soon. The Starting Point Project was born out of several focus groups of some of our more involved parents (who later became members of our Parent Advisory Council). The question raised was, "If there was something that you wish you could have had access to when your child was first diagnosed, what would it be? The result of those conversations is the Starting Point Project.
