Wordsmith At Play: Is Writing a Solitary Art?
http://wordsmith-at-play.blogspot.com/2012/04/is-writing-solitary-art.html
The Most Important Rule. Monday, April 23, 2012. Is Writing a Solitary Art? Today I am writing a blog post as a response to another blog post. That's legal, right? I've seen it done before. And ever since I've been wanting to try it myself. I made myself wait until I found something I cared enough about to write a whole blog post in response, and now I've found something that matters that much to me. These paragraphs are from Veronica Sicoe. Myth #1. Writing is a solitary activity. The writer of today do...

Does ANYONE work at Game? October 1, 2012. I complained to Game. It was justified complaint, not a jokey one. I won’t paste the entire complaint here, as it is the journey that the complaint took that I want to share with you all, not necessarily the complaint itself. In quick summary, though…. I bought some games from Game. The Internet in the shop wasn’t working, so they couldn’t add my Reward Points. The manager suggested I contact Customer Support when I got home, to ask that they add my points.

Star Wars Day : Episode 2. May 9, 2012. A few years ago (back in 1997) I heard the “Star Wars Day” joke. I can’t remember where I heard it, but I thought it was great. That year, on the 4th May, I passed the joke on and told everyone I knew that it was Star Wars Day. When they asked me what I meant, I replied “May the Fourth Be With You! 8221; and laughed like an anarchic fool. Nowadays, even when I start chats about other things, people managed to crow-bar the Star Wars joke in. And so the day after Sta...

Now Thats What I Call Music email. December 2, 2011. Subject: Issue with NOW albums. I have a concern. It may take a short while to explain, as it is quite in depth, but please bear with me. Since their release in 1983 all was going well with you releasing the numbered albums in order; Now 13, for example, was followed by Now 14, then Now 15… etc. Last time I checked you were up to NOW 79 which is a great ratio of 3.2 albums per year! You’ll have the same problem of duplicate numbers for each special com...

Why I Love The Internet. October 20, 2011. There are 2 types of people on earth; those who understand ironic maths jokes, and those who don’t. There are also 2 types of people on earth when it comes to the internet; those who don’t like it and those who do. There are many, many reasons why I love the internet. This is my current favourite:. Provisionally I said I would buy them off him, but I had a question before I committed: Does Dave’s show have an age limit? I got a reply…. Advertising Enquiry Part 2.

July 12, 2010. Where I used to work, there was a guy called Danny Nolan. He looked like a chubby Eric Morcambe, glasses and all, and was quite tall too. He must have weighed around 16 stone. Anyway, he liked to gamble. He quite often went out on Friday night for a few hours at a casino, but only just made it back to work by Monday morning. I bet him a quid that he wouldn’t lick Tom Bullers face. 8220;…. a quid? 8221; he asked, interested. Danny said nothing. He waited a few seconds, then lunged at To...

Complaint to Wheat Crunchies. April 9, 2015. Hi there, people of Wheat Crunchies,. The world today seems absolutely bonkers, compared to 30 years ago. People seem to get offended at nothing, Political Correctness has indeed gone mad, and there has been a surge of ICANs. (idiot complaining at nothing.). You seem to have added “Not Actual Size” disclaimers to your individual packs of Wheat Crunchies. It IS madness. Suggs won’t be happy. Because they ARE actual size. THEY ARE THE SAME SIZE! Don’t get ...
