A Mild Woman’s Ramblings…. December 29, 2007. I discovered a cool yarn this year: Bernat Denim Style. Its a cotton acrylic blend that feels like sweatshirt fleece when its knitted up. I made several hats and had lots of oddments left over so I decided to use them up by making a scarf for myself. Its a very simple scarf and I am pleased with how it looks. On size 8 needles. CO 36 stitches K1P2 for 16 rows and switch to next color. Continue until you get sick of knitting or have used up all the oddments.

Monday, February 25, 2008. And why I don't like it. Essentially, I'm very lazy and I want instant gratification. Pencil roving requires lots of predrafting to get a good result. There's a good tutorial. At the Yarn Yard. Has had great results from it, but she has patience. I prefer to spin from fibre that just needs a bit of titivation to get it going. Like I said: lazy! No new yarn purchases made, although the last-minute pre-31st December purchases have only just arrived after a two-week jaunt in the clutches of the Royal Mail. I was starting to get twitchy. A Mild Woman’s Ramblings…. October 23, 2007. Blip, Blip, Blip! Why is it when the battery decides to go out in your smoke alarm, it never happens during the daylight hours? Why can’t it start its dieing blips at say, Noon? No, it chooses the wee hours of the morning to begin its death throws. Saturday, 28 June 2008. Woolfest. in a gazillion photos! I had a lovely time, met quite a few Ravelers and then afterwards we had fish n chips in Keswick, and a dog walk in the rain around the lake. It was a lovely day! We didn't get there til 1pm, so first we scouted around checking it all out (we being me and mum). I loved seeing the animals. Some of my favourites were the Wensleydale sheep, angora bunny, and the alpacas. I seem to have a thing for animals with funny hair/flecces. Check out this bunny!

Saturday, 29 March 2008. Sorry for being AWOL for ages! I did loads of dyeing last week, it's all gone now apart from one skein, and I'm dyeing again right now :) am very much enjoying it! I've finished a pair of socks (at the bottom), am halfway through some more socks, and my tiger socks are 75% done. Also my horseshoe lace stole is getting under way now, albeit very slowly! Saturday, 28 July 2007. YoYo Jacket finally done! That was a sigh of relief! The Yoyo jacket is finally finished, it's such a nice feeling! I have to be honest and say I'm not overjoyed with it! Perhaps it's because I've got sick of the sight of it! I'm going to put it away for a while then get it out again. At Stitch n Bitch they all tried it on (you know who you are!
