Wednesday, June 25, 2008. He can count to 14, recite nursery rhymes, undo his shoes, and play nice with his friends. He can make up silly rhymes and hum song-y song songs and giggle and wiggle and snort when he laughs. He can peel sticker backs, rinse his hair in the bath, use the potty, and use his indoor voice at the library. He can even climb all the way up the tall slide at the park and walk across the wobbly bridge all by himself! He can do all these things, you see, because now he's thlee! I must h...

Monday, February 25, 2008. Last Friday the 23rd was the last day of my year long maternity leave, but you won't find me trying to put together some work outfits, checking on my day care arrangements, or planning knitting projects for long commutes and lunch breaks. No Sir-ee Bob, not me! I am leaving my job! My office back in 2005 before I took my first maternity leave}. Because that's the kind of mom I want to be to my two sweet as pie little guys and they deserve nothing less. Monday, February 18, 2008.

annypurls: November 2008
http://annypurls.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 17, 2008. After warming Lolo's toesies with his puppy bootees, the time had come for a little Julian warming so I got right to work last week concocting the 'perfect' slippers for this eccentric 3 year old of mine. . They also had to be red, his new new favourite colour (it sure beats his previous favourite colours, brown and black! I used Knitting at Knoon Design's Family of slippers. 160;pattern and modified it by working 1 row stripes in gray and cream Lopi (I used about 2/3 of each ...

Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Way back in December, after that feverish bout of designing and sample knitting for those Buddy Sweaters, I took a deep breath and decided to quit knitting…for the holidays. I always have these grand plans for the holidays and in the end, there are just too many chores, expectations, and too little time. . So just like that, I tore up my holiday knitting list, put away all the yarn, needles and books strewn all over my house and just put it out of my mind. I joined the gym ...

Wednesday, December 17, 2008. I've known it was happening for a while now but chose to ignore it. I dismissed it. I even managed to convince myself it wasn't happening at all - especially when I peeped into his room at night and caught a glimpse. Of his sleepy self in his little jammies. 160;But suddenly, there is no denying it anymore. My Jubilee Bubilee. Is not a baby anymore! 160;He isn't even a toddler anymore. He's, well, a kid. If it weren't for my Lolobean. Magazine No. 004. I kn...Was delici...

annypurls: January 2010
http://annypurls.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. We decided to name Julian Julian. Because we liked the name, of course, but also because we liked the obvious nicknames: Jude or Jules. But as soon as we saw his little face, we knew he needed another interim nickname that was more fitting to his little tiny, pudgy, round-faced self. But none of these stuck as THE nickname until auntie Libby coined jujube during one of our Sunday lunches at grandma and grandpa's. It was perfect! Her Abbey for all of 3o seconds. When it came ...

Friday, October 31, 2008. Friday, October 17, 2008. Give me something good to knit. With halloween at our doorstep, I couldn't resist knitting up a couple of spooky Buddy Bags for my little Jujube and Lolo to trick-or-treat with. I used my original Buddy Bag pattern. 160;the drawstring backpacks. . I came up with three new spooky pocket/buddy variations. First there's the witch in her cauldron with optional logs and flames! 160;If it works, it will completely revolutionize my approach to eyes on knit...

KneedleHappy: February 2006

Tuesday, February 28, 2006. The other day I came across this gorgeous creature: Interweave Knit's Corset Pullover. It is bee-youtiful. Admittedly not very corset-y, but lovely in a mediaeval way. I spent a lot of yesterday searching blogs about it, to see if I could pick up any hints and tips, especially about which yarn to use. Well, I dicovered that the actual pattern yarn is for sale on a US website - it's really cheap too (for 'proper' yarn)! However, it is a beautiful pattern. Hmmm. So anyway, no Ro...
