Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter
State of the Craft: January 2011
http://stateofthecraft.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
State of the Craft. Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Two More Gift Quilts. I gave two quilts for Christmas this year, both of them StormQuilts. SQ#13 started off more or less on a lark. But as it developed I realized that it was both very warm and very wide, both qualities treasured by Mrs.5000. So after I finished it in early December, it mysteriously disappeared until it emerged from under the tree. Whereas SQ#7 ended up square, SQ#6 is a more practical rectangle. No...
State of the Craft: How to Pin an American Quilt
http://stateofthecraft.blogspot.com/2013/04/how-to-pin-american-quilt.html
State of the Craft. Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter. Monday, April 15, 2013. How to Pin an American Quilt. A joint post with some other blog I do. The first thing you do is put the back side of the quilt face down on the bedroom floor. Why the bedroom? Am I going to pull the batting and the top taut, like I did with the back? The face outward from the center, making sure that the two free layers are evenly spread, free of wrinkles, and squared up relative to each other and to the back underneath them.
State of the Craft: Green
http://stateofthecraft.blogspot.com/2013/04/green.html
State of the Craft. Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Another joint post with some other blog I do. I made this one for my parents, who recently celebrated one of those birthdays that is divisible by five. You might remember it from such recent posts as " How to Pin an American Quilt. It is kind of like this one from three years ago. Except it's, like, green. The older one is still my favorite, because, well, purple and blue, but my parents have a green living room and and I gu...
State of the Craft: August 2012
http://stateofthecraft.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
State of the Craft. Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. A Wedding Quilt for 2010. Then, I pretty much stopped quilting for a year or so. And then I picked up my project list last fall for the first time in ages and was all like "OMG! I forgot about Joey and Daisy's wedding quilt! The primary design considerations were:. That it wanted to be "symmetrical-but-not-too-symmetrical.". That it wanted to consist of a short series of values in a single color. View my complete profile.
State of the Craft: More Adventures with Scrap Strips
http://stateofthecraft.blogspot.com/2013/05/more-adventures-with-scrap-strips.html
State of the Craft. Further Adventures of a Boy Quilter. Tuesday, May 07, 2013. More Adventures with Scrap Strips. I was pretty pleased with Green. The second of my "sew a bunch of strips together and call it good" quilts. It and its earlier cousin Purple and Blue. Were great ways of burning through fabrics that were ugly or just not to my taste, or of which I had long, skinny pieces not likely to be of much use otherwise. Purple and Blue. Here is what happens when you start working with the concept of "...

Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle: November 2009
http://awfullybigdigsbymacfeegle.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle. Friday, November 20, 2009. My new favorite toy is balloons. These are great because they are cheap and once I explode one I can just blow up another one! Here is a short tutorial about how to make your own balloon ball toys. First you have to get that balloon in your mouth. Now it’s going to be all floppy all over and flat at first. This may make you want to try to chew it up and swallow it but don’t do that! Keep blowing, and blowing, and blowing. I recommend for first tim...

Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle: BARK DAY!!!!
http://awfullybigdigsbymacfeegle.blogspot.com/2009/10/bark-day.html
Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle. Monday, October 19, 2009. Friday the 16th was My very first Barkday! We have lots of pictures. Mom got Moose some barkday presents too because he has never had a barkday party and we didn't want him to be sad. I couldn't wait to open the present. I whined and whined until they gave in and let me open it. There was lots of stuff in the bag but at first Moose didn’t know. He snatched the first thing out of the bag. He was going to hide it from me under the table. Love ya lots,.

Quilty the Libster: August 2012
http://quiltster.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 13, 2012. As much as I love free sewing, making it up as I go along, and trying new things, there are nevertheless a few traditional quilt patterns on my list that I will not be happy until I have made. One of them is Ocean Waves. Back, way back, when I went through a frenzy of cutting up my scraps. For different projects in the hopes of reducing the irreducible volume thereof, I cut a big pile of squares destined to become half-square-triangles for an Ocean Waves quilt. Links to this post.
Quilty the Libster: In A Past Life
http://quiltster.blogspot.com/2011/01/in-past-life.html
Monday, January 3, 2011. In A Past Life. I know there are a million uses for felted sweaters (in theory) but they also take up a lot of room so I told myself I needed to do something with them or stop storing them to use "someday". So what I was planning to be my next project last winter seemed as good a place as any to start up this winter. Preview of what it may look like with the border. Interestingly, the log cabin was started for a different friend who I ended up giving this quilt. To, which was als...

Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle: December 2009
http://awfullybigdigsbymacfeegle.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. I have been bored with this winter thing. Bogart has explained how cold and wet it's been here in P-Town. Also there is this Christmas thing that takes up a lot of time. I'm not even allowed to eat the decorations like I could last year. The way Santa stares at me with those unblinking eyes. Its not natural! Then she chases me all around the house in a big circle. I like to drag my tiny older cousin around the house. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle: March 2009
http://awfullybigdigsbymacfeegle.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. We are still packing. This is the wall of stuff so far. It looks kind of like Bogart’s house. I have been trying to spend some extra time with Errol (the stinky poo-poo head kitty) since he will be moving to a different house than me. Socks aren’t terrible but it is never ok to dress a dog. I come in these coordinating colors for a reason. I told you not to post those pictures! Mom I am going to hate you forever! This is soooo not cool with me!

Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle: Justice is best served at body temperature
http://awfullybigdigsbymacfeegle.blogspot.com/2009/10/justice-is-best-served-at-body.html
Awfully Big Digsby Mac Feegle. Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Justice is best served at body temperature. After only a day back in the blogiverse I realized how much I missed it. Thus I also realized how much my mom should be punished for being so lazy these past months. Don’t worry friends, justice has been served. Today, when Mom was in the doggie store trying to buy my dinner…. I peed on her leg. October 8, 2009 at 2:08 AM. Mitch has peed on me before but never on mom! October 8, 2009 at 4:24 PM. Hello and...
