Monday, March 10, 2014. I love that it is almost the middle of March! Spring is my favorite, and I've loved seeing the temperatures start to rise and the sun shining a little bit more. We went on a walk one beautiful morning a couple weeks ago, and it was my favorite. We even saw little baby lambs! Tuesday, July 29, 2014. We just got back from spending a week in Italy! Joseph had a dental conference at the base in northern Italy, so we decided to tag along and make it a family vacation. We flew into Rome and spent three days running around the city. Michelangelo's Pieta sculpture, made in 1499 when he was only 25 years old, was beautiful. The basilica was enormous, and so ornate. Tuesday, May 20, 2014. May has been pretty great so far. It is amazing how much more you can do when the weather is nice and it is still light after dinner! We've had some gorgeous weather the past couple of weeks and it has been nice to go out walking and exploring. I've been weeding and planting flowers and herbs and really enjoying my few minutes of time outside every day. I got window boxes for Mother's Day and they make me so happy! Wednesday, October 15, 2014. We just got back from a weekend in Paris! It was sort of an anniversary trip, sort of a where-should-we-go-on-a-holiday-weekend trip, and it was wonderful! We took the Eurostar train from London and we were in Paris 2.5 hours later. Our hotel was about 5 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, so that was our first stop. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. We spent last week in Cornwall, on the southwest coast of England. We rented a house and had a very relaxing Christmas holiday there. The location was absolutely gorgeous! On Christmas Eve we explored the area a little bit before it got too dark. The kids got new pajamas and we had a nice cozy evening together. Sunday, August 10, 2014. After our few days in Rome, we took the train about three hours north to Venice. It was a beautiful ride, through lovely countryside, fields, and villages. It was so exciting to see the train approaching Venice! I loved it from the moment we got off the train. The whole city is just made up of sidewalks and waterways, no cars or motor vehicles at all. We walked to our hotel and dropped off our luggage, and then headed out to explore. We were so pleased with our 24 hours in Venice!

Monday, April 27, 2015. We spent last weekend in Greece, visiting Athens and enjoying a weekend cruise to a few Greek islands. It was absolutely fantastic and incredibly gorgeous! We spent an evening in Mykonos, walking among all the white and blue buildings, with a row of windmills towering over us on the top of the island. The kids dipped their toes in the Aegean Sea and we watched the most beautiful sunset over the water. We loved walking through the small streets and imagining what life was like there.

Sunday, May 31, 2015. A Visit and a Baptism. My mom and dad came to visit in May to see Matthew get baptized. It was wonderful to have them here for that special day. We love this big guy and are so proud of him. Of course we packed in a bunch of other fun stuff to do while my parents were here!
