At UAB this week. Will update this post with the latest tips and hints for the attendees. If you are new to the Linux command-line, or just want a quick refresher, I can recommend this introduction. I’m a bit rusty at the Linux shell. How do I use VirtualBox Shared Folders with StatGenLab? My mouse pointer is stuck inside the VM! For VirtualBox, you can press the Host Key to give the mouse pointer back to the host operating system. By default, on Windows this is Right CTRL. On Mac, this is Left Command. How do I turn off the VM? What text editors are installed? Vim, nano, emacs, and LeafPad. How do I enter and exit full-screen mode? For VirtualBox, press the Host Key F. How do I copy and paste?

A quick example for those new to torrents. June 17, 2014. My guess is that most of you will use the web download link to get StatGenLab, but until we can arrange for more bandwidth and additional mirrors that server may be slow or swamped. As an alternative download option, we also offer StatGenLab via torrent, which uses a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol called BitTorrent. If you would like to do this, you will need a torrent client. For Windows we can recommend utorrent. VT-x is disabled in the BIOS.
