The Stay At Home Scientist. Skip to primary content. A hat to boot! October 16, 2012. These past few weeks I have been slowly making my way through the pile of unfinished sewing projects that have accumulated over the years. I am trying to keep myself from starting any new projects until I have wrapped these ones up. Starting with the easiest in the pile, I have finished some table cloths and table runners as well as a new set of cloth napkins! I had a blast making the hat. It did not turn out exactl...

The Stay At Home Scientist. Skip to primary content. August 16, 2012. This past Monday the kids and I got a chance to meet up with our friend Suann. We have not seen her in so long, and it was wonderful to have the chance to catch up. Luckily her sister now works not too far away from where we live, so hopefully we will get a chance to see her a bit more often! This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. small things: presidents' day reading list

http://mostlysmallthings.blogspot.com/2014/02/presidents-day-reading-list.html

Thursday, February 13, 2014. Presidents' day reading list. Since noah is on a US presidents kick, and we've been reading lots of president-related books around here, i thought i'd share a few of our favorites in time for presidents' day. We love all the books by ingri and edgar parin d'aulaire. They are a really talented duo! Another great one, and one of noah's all-time favorites, is what presidents are made of. By hanoch piven. noah absolutely loves the clever illustrations in this one! Subscribe to: P...

Thursday, June 06, 2013. Woodworking With Mr. Bandstra". He painted all the panels with chalkboard paint and made all the frame pieces for each slate ahead of time. The kids then painted wood glue into the grooves in the frame pieces, and then fitted all their pieces together like a puzzle, and then hammered them together with a mallet. They loved it! This display was in the hallway for a while after Creative Arts Week. I love the creative use of wood shavings! Links to this post. Wednesday, June 05, 2013.
