Our Faith | The Vicar's Blog
https://stbarnacles3.wordpress.com/our-faith
The Vicar's Blog. A St Michael and St Barnabas website. The Old Testament Monarchy. What is a Christian? People have many different ideas of what it means to be a Christian. Some people think you are a Christian if you lead a good life, or if you had Christian parents, or you were brought up in a Christian country. Many people would without a thought call themselves Christian even though they may never have been to church or considered what they believe. But is this what being a Christian is really about?

The Vicar's Blog. A St Michael and St Barnabas website. The Old Testament Monarchy. Faith in difficult times. There is a certain school of Christian evangelism which likes to give out the message that if you come to Jesus, everything will be all right. You put your trust in Jesus and yours is the victory to claim in every situation. Your burdens will be taken away, your path will become smooth and you will live forever with the love of Jesus in your heart. It’s important to wrestle like Job with th...

What can we learn here about the type...

The Vicar's Blog. A St Michael and St Barnabas website. The Old Testament Monarchy. At St Michael’s and St Barnabas we agreed a Mission Action Plan at our APCM in April 2012. We said that it would have a lifespan of five years, so in less than two years we are going to have to draw up a new one! Memo to self: need to plan an away day next year to reflect on the progress made and to start the process for drawing up a new one). A better sense of belonging. Knowing Jesus better –. Being with each other.
Love feasts | The Vicar's Blog
https://stbarnacles3.wordpress.com/2015/06/28/love-feasts
The Vicar's Blog. A St Michael and St Barnabas website. The Old Testament Monarchy. It was great to gather together for lunch at St Michael’s today and something truly unusually happened for us. We had eaten, washed up and tidied away by two o’clock: usually we would only be sitting down to eat by that time. But even more importantly, it was great to see so many people staying behind eating, chatting and learning new things about each other. And satisfying their own appetites instead ( 1 Cor 11:33-34).
