Summer and Autumn Events. Monday, October 17, 2011. Summer and Autumn Events 2011. The first event of our summer was the return visit 1st Troon Company, Boy's Brigade on 7th August for their Summer Camp. They had been in Jersey 3 years previously. The following week, a presentation was given to Mr Walter Callander and Mr George Thain in recognition of each having completed 50 years of service as Church Elders; most of which was here in Jersey. Autumn at St. Columba's
Autumn at St. Columba's. Thursday, December 1, 2011. Governor's visit and Christmas Fayre. Left to right, is our minister. the Rev Randolph Scott, the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, General Sir John McColl, Lady Gene McColl, Mr Boyd Bennie, Mr Gordon Porter, Mrs Rena Menzies, and Mrs Louise Scott. The Choir were in good voice to sing a welcome. And the first Advent Candle was lit. The day before had been our Christmas "Fayre", which was a great success, raising nearly £1600 for Church funds.

Christmas Lunch and Family Service 2011. Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Christmas Lunch and Family Service 2011. The Church Christmas Lunch was once again held, on Thursday 15th December, at the Somerville Hotel in St, Aubin where an excellent meal was provided. Most of the old faces were there plus one or two new ones. It was a pity that our minister, the Rev Randolph Scott, was unable to be with us as he was recovering from an operation. Below, we see the queue to light the 4th Advent Candle.

Jean Wilson's 95th birthday lunch. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Jean Wilson's 95th birthday lunch. Tuesday 6th March was a very special day for Mrs Jean Wilson, a memember of the congregation of St. Columba's church, Jersey. It was her 95th birthday. Her family arranged a birthday lunch for her in the Church Hall at which about 30 members of the congregation and her family attended. A special cake was made and her great grandson helped her to blow out the candles. A family photograph to mark the occasion.

St Columba's Diamond Jubilee Service. Tuesday, June 12, 2012. St Columba's Diamond Jubilee Service. A service of thanksgiving for the Queens Diamond Jubilee was given at St. Columba's Church of. Scotland Jersey, on Sunday 3rd June 2012. The Church was decorated with flowers, flags and bunting. Our Minister, the Rev Randolph Scot, wore a Union Jack waistcoat specially for the occasion. Summer Family Service 2012
Summer Family Service 2012. Thursday, July 12, 2012. Summer Family Service 2012. St Columba's Summer Family Service and Sunday School Prize Giving took place on Sunday 8th July.The Service, which was attended by about 90 people, was given an Olympic Games theme and some of the children can be seen carrying in national flags, which they made themselves. Hymns were sung including "Jesus loves his little children" which was led by the Sunday School. Lessons were read by the young,. A view of the "race".

Saturday, July 28, 2012. Olympic Flower Festival 2012. St Columba's Church of Scotland, Jersey, decided to have a Summer Flower Festival with an Olympic theme. All the most appropriate surfaces were decorated with floral displays to a beautiful and imaginative standard, so, instead of picking out a few, I decided to publish them all so can decide for yourself which ones you prefer. Church Burns Night 2011
Church Burns Night 2011. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Church Burns Supper 2011. 65279;The Church Burns Supper was again held at St. Georges School and was attended by 76 members of the congregation and friends. The proceedings opened with a display of highland dancing. 65279; Then came the haggis, escorted in style by piper, Gregor Alan; carried in equal style by Sandy Hare, and bringing up the rear with a most important ingrediant of Scotch Malt Whisky (Dalwhinnie), Archie Blair.
