Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Making Tata Steel
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2013/11/making-tata-steel.html
Vrijdag 29 november 2013. I live near the factory from Tata Steel, its something you see every day, cause it is prominent. Often what happens with these sort of landmark buildings that you become to see a more beautiful side from it. You see it in sunlight, and in rain, or in foggy mysterious light. The last one appeals me most, and it is the fog that makes watercolors always more magical then other mediums. With watercolor you have already the right medium to create mist, its wet and humid. Trick, selec...

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Painting a misty scene Plein Air
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2014/04/painting-misty-scene-plein-air.html
Vrijdag 4 april 2014. Painting a misty scene Plein Air. Adrie Hoekstra and myself went painting on location, the weather forecast was sunny all day! Well it wasn’t really the case in the morning. It was chilly, and I was happy I brought my fleece jacket. But when we arrived it was a gorgeous view. The mist above the marshes and the churches just appeared on the Horizon! The first wash was a grey misty color with a yellow touch above the horizon,. But with a solution that comes nice from your brush. And t...

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Kees van Aalst
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2014/09/kees-van-aalst.html
Vrijdag 5 september 2014. Kees van Aalst is a Dutch Watercolormaster. Watching Kees van Aalst paint, is watching a skilled artist paint. It looks so easy when you see it, but when you. Try it, you end up with a painting that looks like your little brother have made! All his painting career he makes “Less is More” a fact, and makes even less, more less! Large washes in the start, with fresh colors, usually with no more then three pigments. And then he choose his colors. In the workshops I followed, Kees m...

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Summary
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/p/summary.html
The watercolor is one of the most difficult forms of visual art. The quirky nature of the medium, that the painter tries to tame, but still shows a degree of freedom, is a challenge for many artists. In experienced hands like those of Edo Hannema it can lead to amazing results. With his passion for the landscape, with water and the Dutch skies. He suggest more then he really paints, Edo Hannema know where to stop, this a sign of years of experience. Met zijn passie voor het Hollandse landschap waarbij lu...

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Workshop in Buurthuis de Brulboei
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2014/02/workshop-in-buurthuis-de-brulboei.html
Zaterdag 15 februari 2014.

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Chien Chung Wei
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2014/08/chien-chung-wei.html
Zaterdag 16 augustus 2014.

Edo Hannema Watercolor Art: Thinking out of the box.
http://waterspat.blogspot.com/2015/02/thinking-out-of-box.html
Woensdag 11 februari 2015. Thinking out of the box. When you have a landscape on a photo and you like to paint this, and make this in a watercolor, the changes are big you copy every line and color on that photo, and will end up with a boring watercolor comparing to the photo. You have to make changes in your painting that makes it a charming watercolor. Let see we take a photo from a landscape! Great sky, nice reflections! Just enough land to make it work! So the red is in this case Burnt Sienna. So I l...
