The cove is southfacing and quite sheltered with relatively few visitors. Sandstone was quarried here for St Davids Cathedral. Good for Bass fishing. Everyone knows someone on the lifeboat and we all wait to hear that the boat is safely home. 1869 - The first lifeboat, Augusta, given by the Earl of Dartmouth. 1910 - The Gem went to a rescue but sadly 3 lifeboat men drowned. 1911 - Current boathouse and slipway built for the arrival of the station's first motor lifeboat.
