That's right, folk, mista overman will be visiting wild and wonderful colorado starting this thursday, march 3rd. i know he's looking forward to it, since most of the voicemails i've received from him this winter have gone something like this:. turning your orbit around: more news and ruminations
http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2007/07/more-news-and-ruminations.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. More news and ruminations. Why do people continue to buy chevy suburbans and tahoes, ford expeditions, or - god forbid - hummers? In steamboat's summer months, an invasion takes place of families who make a pilgrimage here to have their sons and daughters play in these tournaments. Every single one of them drives an enormous gas-guzzling SUV. they ought to visit this site. Before they make their next car purchase. Fantastic news, folks! Librar...

turning your orbit around: April 2005
http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. My journal entry from sunday:. Yesterday i sat in the sun, in jeans and a t-shirt, and watched jenn and jamie play tennis. the dogs were leashed and lay panting courtside, the car radio was on, and the mountains continued their springmelt into the yampa river. And tomorrow, i will wake to a wet and messy snow that has already begun this evening. this is the time of year when rain holds a tenuous grip on moisture, which can at any time beco...

http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2007/07/midsummer-update.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. Well folks, it's been over a month since i last posted. it's officially the hottest summer since i've been here, and it really shows no sign of letting up. i'm looking out at a the valley through a forest fire haze, with smoke drifting in from the rifle fire. And points farther west. It is scorching, it is dry, and it's been very hard on our beloved yampa river. Anyway, here are some bullets for those of you still checking in from time to time:.

turning your orbit around: November 2004
http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. Holy crap, what have we gotten ourselves into? This is the thought i imagine running through my wife's head this morning, after having received 6-8 inches of snow on thursday night, 11-14 inches on saturday night, and then sustained 40 mile per hour winds last night that created some seriously tall and crusty drifts. On top of all that, we woke to 5 degree temperatures this morning. Songs were shared, and football was watched. It all started o...

turning your orbit around: life...
http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2007/04/life.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. And how we live it. These past few weeks have been a blur. between a couple day trips to fish the green, an ever accelerating work schedule as the semester winds down, and a last-minute trip back home to illinois (which was initially for very scary reasons, but wound up being really quite lovely), well. I hardly remember the first half of april at all. Holding babies at bp's headstart program - we all needed some baby cuddling. Down-home wisdo...

turning your orbit around: fishing right now...
http://turningyourorbitaround.blogspot.com/2007/04/fishing-right-now.html
Turning your orbit around. Or the utter enormity of the task. Is outrageous. phenomenal. Because of the early thaw, the low valley runoff is done. but it's been cool enough the last week to keep the high mountain runoff from starting. the result is a fantastic little window where the water clarity is just good enough and the fish are hungry after a long winter. An email to my dad from this morning:. 12 inch rainbow (sj worm). 20/21 inch fat rainbow that went 3 or 4 pounds (pheasant tail).
