S14 Northwest Costal Indians Blog. April 28, 2014. The Tillamook people were excellent basket weavers (Ratty). They used tree bark and decorated them with three colors (Seaburg and Miller 562). The baskets were strong and able to hold liquids without leaking (Ratty). The Tillamook canoes were tought to be a similar style to this Cowlitz canoe.
