Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Eaton Creek to 88 Store. This was Nellys first hike. We were worried that she would run away. She is a good hiker. From 314 to FR 97 the trail was not well mentained. Nelly had to choose weather to jump over the fallen trees or sneak under them. The trees were amazing, but but the wildlife was quiet. Tuesday, July 10, 2012. FTA and FMNP paddle the Sante Fe River. The Florida Trail Association and the Florida Master Naturalist Program partnered together for this high water paddle down the Sante Fe River. A small gathering made it to this last minute paddle a week after Tropical Storm Debbie had filled up the Sante Fe and Suwanee Rivers. Beautiful day for a paddle. Wednesday, March 14, 2012. The Kiz had heard of this great Lake Panasofkee, and the springs that fed it. We got some bad info from the vendor and ended up hugging the coast of "Lake Pan" and winding up almost stuck in the muck that was Big Jones Creek. Monday, February 8, 2010. We parked our vehicle in the Colt Creek State Park and did the short road walk to the start of the trail on right just before the Withlacoochie river bridge on 471. We actually did a stretch along the road the wrong way before we turned around (add 1 mile to trip). We did the froggy sign in at 471 and proceeded to make our way through the swamp. 87 miles to Mott Hammock, time check. oh shit not another night hike. Green Swamp West was dryer. This trail lived up to its name.
