Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of superparamagnetic iron oxide- (SPIO) labeled hydroxyapatite (HA) coated microparticles in a healing rat medial collateral ligament (MCL). The SPIO labeled microparticles are visible as a large hypointensive area along the MCL. These microparticles can be as a trackable sustained protein delivery system. Image provided by Anna Breiner.
