OttArt: February 2009
http://ottart.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. A place to be from. So, obviously most of what I write here will relate to the goings-on in Chicago. But occasionally I'll travel around to NY or Miami or wherever and I'm sure I'll be finding artwork there too. So while I probably won't get around to seeing it, if you have the means then you must see the Tara Donovan exhibit at the CAC. Tara Donovan, Untitled, plastic cups. Tara Donovan, Untitled, toothpicks. Tara Donovan, Untitled, styrofoam cups. Friday, February 27, 2009.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. I braved the wind on my bike today to ride over to Art On Armitage, a window gallery at 4125 W. Armitage Ave. There are a few pieces from Stephanie Dean's "Modern Groceries" series on display. This series is a modern, photographic take on Dutch still-life painting of the 1600's. She nailed the lighting and painterly feel, and her use of packaged food items is brilliant. It was worth the ride. I look forward to seeing more of it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
